The 2022-2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is the battery-electric version of Ford’s full-size F-150 pickup. Unlike the combustion-engine models, it has no conventional engine bay: the space under the front hood is used as a front trunk, or frunk, while the main 12 V power distribution box is hidden beneath the right-hand frunk trim panel.
The truck uses two main 12 V fuse panels: the under-hood fuse box in the front of the vehicle and the Body Control Module fuse box in the passenger compartment. The tables below cover body electronics, electric-drive control modules, high-voltage battery cooling, the frunk, audio, USB charging, ABS, lighting and trailer circuits.
If you need the fuse layout for Ford’s smaller pickup from the same period, see the separate 2022 Ford Maverick guide. Despite the similar model year, the two vehicles use completely different electrical architectures and fuse numbering.
Where are the fuse boxes in the Ford F-150 Lightning?
Front power distribution box
After opening the hood, do not look for a fuse box beside an engine: the Lightning is fully electric. The main fuse box is located under the right-hand section of the frunk trim, viewed in the direction of travel. Remove the right upper frunk trim panel, beginning at its rear edge and releasing the retaining clips. The black fuse-box cover is directly underneath.

Body Control Module fuse box
The second panel is on the passenger side, low in the right-hand side of the front footwell behind the side trim panel. Remove or move the floor mat, then remove the trim panel at the side of the footwell. The Body Control Module fuse panel, with positions 1-38, is behind it.

Ford recommends disconnecting the 12 V battery before servicing high-current fuses. Do not open, disconnect or work on orange high-voltage cables or high-voltage components as part of ordinary 12 V fuse service.

The numbers in the diagram correspond to the positions in the table. Gaps in the numbering are intentional: Ford only uses the positions listed for this fuse-box configuration.

If a replacement fuse blows again, do not install a higher-rated fuse. Many Lightning circuits are electronically controlled, so repeated fuse failure normally calls for diagnosis of the wiring or the protected component.
FAQ – 2022-2023 Ford F-150 Lightning fuses
Where is the main fuse box?
Under the right-hand upper trim panel of the front trunk. Remove that section of the frunk trim and then the fuse-box cover.
Where is the passenger-compartment fuse box?
Low on the passenger side, behind the right-hand trim panel in the front footwell.
Which fuse protects the radio?
The radio is protected by BCM fuse 32 – 20 A.
Which fuses should I check for the frunk?
Check front fuse 72 – 40 A and BCM fuse 14 – 15 A first.
Which fuse is related to the charge port?
The charge-port status indicator is protected by fuse 17 – 5 A. Charging itself is controlled by additional modules, so charging faults should not be diagnosed from that fuse alone.
Can I replace F-150 Lightning fuses myself?
Conventional 12 V fuses can be checked and replaced with the exact same rating specified by Ford. Disconnect the 12 V battery before servicing high-current fuses, and do not open or disconnect high-voltage components without the appropriate training and equipment.
