Ford Ranger (2019) – Fuse Box Diagrams and Relays

The 2019 Ford Ranger for the North American market returned to the United States after a multi-year absence. Ford uses several layers of circuit protection on this model: a pre-fuse box at the positive battery terminal, the main engine-compartment power distribution box, additional fuses on the underside of that box, and a passenger-compartment fuse panel.

Do not treat this chart as interchangeable with the European Ranger Mk3. Both belong to the T6 family, but market specifications and fuse numbering differ.

Where are the fuse boxes in a 2019 Ford Ranger?

Pre-fuse box: attached directly to the positive battery terminal. It contains high-current protection and is not the panel normally used for routine fuse replacement.

Main engine-compartment fuse box: located next to the battery under a large black cover. Lift the release lever at the rear to remove the cover. Some of the vehicle’s fuses are mounted on the underside of the complete module.

Passenger-compartment fuse panel: located low under the instrument panel, on the outboard side of the steering column, behind an access cover. On right-hand-drive vehicles the panel is correspondingly located on the right-hand side.

This layout differs significantly from the older North American 2004-2012 Ranger. On the 2019 truck, several circuits – including the fuel pump, BCM, ABS, seats and trailer equipment – are protected by fuses on the underside of the main box, so looking only at the top cover is not enough.

Fuses on the underside of the engine-compartment box

To access the lower section, release the two latches on the sides of the box, lift the rear portion from its base, slide the module toward the rear of the engine compartment and rotate it. Then pivot the rear section and release the lower-cover latches. Disconnect the 12 V battery before carrying out this procedure.

FAQ – 2019 Ford Ranger fuses

Why can’t I find the fuel-pump fuse after removing the top cover?

The fuel pump control module is protected by fuse 60 – 30 A on the underside of the box. The fuel-pump relay is on the upper section at position 32.

What should I check if the rear differential lock does not work?

Start with fuse 53 – 15 A in the upper section. For broader 4×4 problems, also check fuse 66 – 25 A on the underside and the 4WD motor 1 and 2 relays.

The trailer turn signals work, but the electric trailer brakes do not. Is this the same circuit?

No. The trailer brakes have a separate 30 A fuse at position 64 on the underside of the box. Trailer stop/turn lamps use fuses 56 and 63 and their corresponding relays.

Where is the USB charging fuse?

The USB charging port is protected by fuse 29 – 7.5 A in the upper section of the engine-compartment box.

Why does the passenger fuse panel have power while some exterior lights do not work?

The body control module has two separate high-current lighting feeds on the underside of the engine-compartment box: fuses 62 and 67, both rated at 50 A. A fault in one of these circuits can cause selective lighting problems rather than a total loss of BCM power.
