The Kia EV9 MV (introduced in 2023) is a battery-electric SUV with low-voltage fuse panels in the passenger compartment and front under-bonnet power distribution box. The tables reproduce the detailed 2024 Kia EV9 fuse and relay assignments: 48 cabin fuses, 32 main front-compartment fuses, 15 additional PCB protection entries and 10 relays.
Original Kia circuit designations, including P/OUTLET2, CHARGER1, IG3 8 and EPCU1, are retained alongside their amperages. The fitted positions may differ by model year, market, equipment and rear-wheel-drive (RWD) versus all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration. Always compare the actual fuse box labels with your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
Where are the Kia EV9 fuse boxes?
Passenger compartment: the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) fuse panel is behind lower dashboard trim beside the steering column and driver’s knee area on left-hand-drive vehicles. Turn off the vehicle, ensure its READY indicator is off, and carefully remove the panel cover. Right-hand-drive access arrangements can differ.
Under the bonnet: the front P/R distribution box is in a lidded enclosure near the auxiliary 12 V battery. Release the plastic clips with the car turned off. This box contains ordinary fuses, high-current MULTI FUSE elements, a PCB protection block and relays.
High-voltage safety: never dismantle protected power electronics or touch orange traction-system wiring. High-current fuse links and traction charging components require properly trained service personnel.

Kia EV9 2024 relay types and assignments
These relays manage charge connector locking and release, electric shift selection, heated rear glass, blower, accessory power and the IG1/IG2/IG3 supplies. The dash in the amperage column is expected because these are relays, not replaceable fuse links. MICRO and MINI indicate their manufacturer relay housing formats.
| Position | Amperage [A] | Protected circuit / function |
|---|---|---|
| Charger Lock Relay | – | Charging connector lock relay (MICRO) |
| E-Shifter Relay | – | Electronic drive selector relay (MICRO) |
| Rear Heated Relay | – | Heated rear window relay (MINI) |
| ACC Relay | – | Accessory power (ACC) relay (MICRO) |
| IG3 Relay | – | IG3 power supply relay (MICRO) |
| IG1 Relay | – | IG1 power supply relay (MICRO) |
| Blower Relay | – | Cabin blower relay (MICRO) |
| IG2 Relay | – | IG2 power supply relay (MICRO) |
| Power Outlet Relay | – | 12 V accessory outlets relay (MICRO) |
| Charger Unlock Relay | – | Charging connector unlock relay (MICRO) |
Where are the Kia EV9 12 V outlets, USB charger and V2L controls?
If the front 12 V accessory socket fails, start with P/OUTLET2 (20 A). The rear socket uses P/OUTLET3 (20 A); a shared fault may involve P/OUTLET1 (40 A) and the related outlet relay. Cabin USB charging is separately protected by USB CHARGER (15 A).
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) output and the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) are associated with IG3 8 (10 A). CHARGER1 supplies the charging connector lock and ICCU-related circuits, but charging problems can also arise from the connector, the charging control unit or communication faults. A fuse is only one item to verify.
Kia EV9 RWD versus AWD and model year differences
AWD vehicles add front axle power electronics and an electric oil pump. The 2024 chart includes EPCU1 (15 A) in the PCB block for the front inverter and EOP2 (40 A) in the main box for the front oil pump. These circuits may be unoccupied on RWD models. Check the exact trim and build year before deciding whether a position should contain a fuse.
For another Kia electric vehicle based on E-GMP architecture, see the Kia EV6 CV fuse guide. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 NE also uses E-GMP, while the Kia Sorento MQ4 is another large Kia SUV with a different electrical system. None of these fuse slot numbers are interchangeable.
Kia EV9 fuse box FAQ
Where is the passenger compartment fuse box?
Behind the lower driver’s-side dashboard panel near the steering column on left-hand-drive models. Check the vehicle cover diagram for exact layout.
Which fuses supply the front and rear 12 V outlets?
In the documented 2024 configuration, P/OUTLET2 and P/OUTLET3 are each rated at 20 A. P/OUTLET1 is a 40 A main outlet relay feed.
Are EV9 RWD and AWD fuses the same?
Not entirely. AWD variants can use additional front-inverter and oil-pump circuits, including EPCU1 and EOP2.
Can high-voltage traction fuses be replaced at home?
No. Leave orange high-voltage cables and protected traction hardware to suitably trained EV service professionals. Replace ordinary 12 V fuses only in accordance with the owner’s manual, using identical rated components.
