Mercury Mariner (2008-2011) – Fuse Box Diagrams and Relays

Mercury Mariner 2008-2011 is the second generation of Mercury’s compact SUV. It was offered with front-wheel drive or AWD, and also as a Hybrid. The electrical layout is closely related to the Ford Escape, but model-year and Hybrid differences matter when identifying fuses.

The passenger fuse panel stayed broadly similar, while several under-hood positions changed between 2008 and 2009-2011. Hybrid models also use additional traction-battery, vacuum-pump and brake-control circuits.

The related Ford Escape II 2008-2012 uses a similar electrical architecture, but its fuse assignments should be checked against its own table.

Fuse-box locations

Passenger compartment: on the right side of the center console next to the dashboard. Remove the side trim and then the fuse-panel cover.

Engine compartment: the Power Distribution Box contains the high-current fuses and relays. Hybrid models also have an auxiliary vacuum-pump relay box on the radiator support.

FAQ – Mercury Mariner 2008-2011 fuses

Where is the passenger fuse panel?

On the right side of the center console next to the dashboard, behind the removable side trim and fuse-panel cover.

Does the Hybrid use the same fuse layout as the 3.0 V6?

No. Several under-hood positions have different ratings or functions, and the Hybrid adds a separate vacuum-pump relay box.

Why is the fuel-pump fuse different between 2008 and 2010?

On gasoline models, 2008 uses position 4 – 20 A. For 2009-2011 the fuel-pump fuse moves to position 22 – 20 A.

Can I use a Ford Escape diagram?

The models are closely related, but individual assignments can differ, especially between gasoline and Hybrid versions. Use the Mariner-specific table for diagnosis.
