Peugeot 208 II (2019-2021) – Fuse Box and Relay Diagrams

Peugeot 208 II (P21, 2019-2021) is the second-generation supermini, available with PureTech petrol, BlueHDi diesel and all-electric e-208 powertrains. The documented electrical layout uses two independent dashboard fuse panels, an engine compartment box and, on some internal-combustion vehicles, an extra high-current supply block near the positive battery terminal.

This guide reflects primarily the 2020 Peugeot 208 owner’s information with additional powertrain-dependent MAXI fuses and relay positions. Do not confuse identical F numbers between panels: lower F1, upper F1 and engine-bay F1 refer to different locations. Trim, market and drivetrain can change the fitment.

Where are the Peugeot 208 II fuse boxes?

On European left-hand-drive cars, the lower and upper dashboard panels are accessed through trim at the driver’s side of the dashboard. The engine fuse box is near the 12 V battery under the bonnet. Switch off ignition and electrical equipment first; refit the engine-box cover properly to prevent water ingress. Some combustion-engine versions also have a high-current supply assembly at the battery positive terminal.

Peugeot 208 II – lower dashboard fuse panel

This lower group protects central locking, washer pumps, rear wipers, the horn, USB, multimedia and power sockets. Only positions described for the relevant 2020 specification are included, not guessed missing slots.

Peugeot 208 II – upper dashboard fuse panel

The upper group has independent numbering and protects power windows, mirrors, optional heated seats and the heated rear windscreen. Upper F1 (rear window, 40 A) is different from lower F1 (automatic-dimming mirror, 10 A).

Peugeot 208 II – under-bonnet fuse box

The manufacturer’s 2020 reference identifies four standard positions for optional heated windscreen, halogen high beams and front wipers. Detailed engine-management protection can differ by PureTech and BlueHDi versions.

Additional MAXI high-current fuses near the battery

The battery-side supply block in selected combustion models distributes high currents to the fan, electrical steering and cabin/engine fuse holders. It is distinct from the ordinary F16-F29 engine compartment table. High-current protection should be handled with appropriate service procedures and must not be assumed to exist identically in e-208.

Position Amperage [A] / type Protected circuit / function
F1 60 Two-speed cooling fan controller in battery power distribution block
F2 100 Main engine compartment fuse box power
F3 80 Electric power steering
F4 80 Main passenger compartment fuse box power
F5 80 Second passenger compartment fuse box supply

Under-bonnet relay positions R1-R9

These nine relay labels come from selected powertrain documentation. Their functions and fitment can change with transmission, air conditioning, lights and engine type. A relay is not a fuse, and the listed functions must not be treated as universal.

Position Amperage [A] / type Protected circuit / function
R1 Relay Engine control unit or diesel SCR system, depending on version
R2 Relay Air-conditioning clutch or heated windscreen
R3 Relay Starter or thermal system preparation
R4 Relay Fog lamps or daytime running lights
R5 Relay Air-conditioning condenser cooling fan
R6 Relay Additional starter relay
R7 Relay Front windscreen wipers, first relay
R8 Relay Front windscreen wipers, second relay
R9 Relay Headlamp relay

Which fuse protects the 12 V outlet, infotainment, horn or wipers?

Cigarette lighter / 12 V socket: lower-panel F31 or F32 (15 A) depending on vehicle equipment. Horn: lower F4 (15 A). 7-inch screen: lower F24 (5 A). 10-inch screen: lower F29 (20 A).

Rear wiper: lower F8 (20 A). Front wipers: engine-box F29 (40 A). Front power windows: upper F3 (30 A), with rear windows at upper F5 (30 A). With halogen high beams, right headlamp uses engine F18 (10 A), left F19 (10 A).

The electric e-208 has its own high-voltage safety requirements. Do not remove protected covers or touch orange traction cabling, and use only the exact fuse rating for the installed low-voltage system.

For the older-generation hatchback, see the Peugeot 206 fuse guide, which uses a different electrical layout. For a compact crossover using related architecture, see Peugeot 2008 II fuse box diagrams. The crossover can use alternative engine-box numbering, so never assume its locations are interchangeable with the 208 hatchback.
