The Citroen DS3 facelift introduced in 2014 retained two main fuse boxes: one in the passenger compartment and one in the engine bay. A group of MAXI fuses for high-current circuits is also located under the hood.
The information below applies to the Citroen DS3 FL from 2014 to 2016. Several VTi and THP petrol engines as well as diesel engines were offered during this period, so not every position is used on every vehicle. Minor differences also occur between model years, particularly in the additional FH36-FH40 section and the MAXI-fuse group.

Fuse box locations
On left-hand-drive cars, the passenger compartment fuse box is located in the lower left-hand part of the dashboard. To access it, unclip the side section of the cover and remove it completely.
On right-hand-drive versions, the module is located inside the passenger glove box.
The second fuse box is located in the engine compartment next to the battery, on the left-hand side. The same assembly contains fuses F1-F21 and the MAXI protection.

The drawing below shows the fuse-box module itself rather than a complete owner’s manual page. The F1-F17 numbering, SH shunt and additional FH positions remain readable even on a smaller screen.
The DS3 uses electrical solutions related to the Citroen C3 from 2009. This does not mean the fuse numbers can be used interchangeably; differences result from equipment and body-version details, among other factors.
Additional FH36-FH40 fuses
This part of the electrical system requires particular care because the assignment of some positions changed during production.

For the 2014 model year, documentation lists FH40 as 30 A, while later vehicles may use 40 A. Never increase the fuse rating based only on an online diagram. Use the value specified for the actual fuse box and vehicle documentation.
In the old article, FH37 was mistakenly labelled “FH3”. The correct designation is FH37.

If the heated rear window and both mirrors stop working at the same time, one of the first items to check is F17 40 A. The 12 V socket has a separate F9 30 A fuse.
Engine compartment fuse box
The diagram below shows the physical layout of fuses F1-F21 and the MAXI section. It is much clearer than a full engine-bay photograph or a complete owner’s manual page.

If only one headlight fails, note the separate F15-F18 protection. The right and left high- and low-beam headlights do not share one common fuse.
MAXI fuses
The MAXI fuses are part of the engine-bay fuse-box assembly and protect high-current circuits. They are not intended for casual replacement during routine diagnosis.

Different values are found in the documentation for MF6 and MF7. On some DS3 FL tables MF6 is 20 A, while other module versions use 30 A. Later documentation may also list MF7 as 80 A. Because of the nature of these circuits, do not select a MAXI fuse solely from an online table. The correct rating must match the markings on the specific BSM fuse box and vehicle version.
The manufacturer recommends that work on MAXI fuses be carried out by a dealer or qualified workshop.
Key differences compared with the DS3 2009-2013
The basic fuse-box arrangement remained similar, but the facelift introduced differences in the additional FH section. The most important concerns FH39: on many facelifted cars this position is unused, whereas on some other configurations it is assigned to heated seats.
FH40 for the trailer wiring module also changes – 2014 documentation lists 30 A, while later documentation may list 40 A.
A 2014 car should therefore not automatically use the table for a 2015 or 2016 vehicle simply because the fuse box looks identical.
Relays and BSI/BSM modules
The DS3 FL owner’s manual does not provide one complete R1/R2/R3 relay table for every engine version. Some relays are integrated into the engine-bay BSM module and the passenger-compartment BSI module.
The manufacturer’s tables do identify some relationships: F1 includes the main engine-control relay and radiator-fan control, passenger-compartment F13 supplies the engine relay module, and FH36, FH40 and F12 are associated with trailer wiring.

Which fuse is for the 12 V socket?
The 12 V socket is protected by F9 30 A in the dashboard fuse box.
Which fuse is for the starter?
Starter control is assigned to F8 25 A in the engine compartment fuse box.
Which fuse is for the radio?
The radio, navigation, multifunction display and part of the alarm system are supplied through F8 20 A in the passenger-compartment fuse box.
Which fuse is for the heated rear window?
The heated rear window and exterior mirrors are protected by F17 40 A in the passenger-compartment fuse box.
Which fuses are for the low-beam headlights?

Is FH39 the heated-seat fuse?
Not on every version. On many 2014-2015 DS3 FL cars, FH39 is marked unused. Other later configurations use FH39 20 A for the heated seats. Check the markings on the actual fuse box.
Why is FH40 rated at either 30 A or 40 A?
Different trailer-wiring configurations were used. The 2014 documentation lists FH40 30 A, while later tables may show 40 A. Do not increase the fuse rating yourself.
Does the 2009-2013 DS3 diagram fit the facelifted version?
The basic fuse layout is very similar, but there are differences in the additional FH section and MAXI-fuse configurations. For a facelifted car, use the table matching the correct model year and equipment.
