Skoda Roomster 5J (2006-2015) – Fuse Box Diagrams and Ratings

Skoda Roomster 5J (2006-2015) uses a 58-position passenger-compartment fuse box and a high-current fuse block above the battery. The two fuse units differ in location and numbering. Changes in engine technology, gearbox, Start/Stop and electrical equipment mean that the fuse charts must be selected by production year and fitted version.

This English guide preserves all 15 source tables and all 4 original diagrams. It separates 2006, 2007-2008, 2009, 2010-2011, 2012 and 2013-2015, including 12-position and 13-position battery units. These versions are not interchangeable, even where the plastic cover shape is similar.

Where are the Skoda Roomster fuse boxes?

Inside the car: beneath the steering wheel on the left lower side of the dashboard, behind the removable access panel. The interior holder has 58 numbered fuse positions. Right-hand-drive arrangements may be mirrored.

In the engine compartment: a separate block on top of the 12 V battery, under a clip-on cover. It protects the alternator, radiator cooling, ABS/ESP, electric power steering, interior power distribution and optional diesel glow plugs or auxiliary heater. Compare the physical 12- or 13-position layout before replacing any high-current fuse.

Cigarette lighter, windscreen wipers and other common Roomster fuses

Cigarette lighter / optional boot socket: dashboard position 47 for all documented year groups; the source explicitly gives 15 A for 2006-2011. For later production cars, check the owner’s manual and installed amperage, as the source does not supply a universally applicable value.

Front wipers: dashboard position 44. Rear wiper: dashboard 40 in early 2006-2009 layouts, moving to 26 on later versions. Heated rear window: position 42. Horn: position 43. Engine and power steering: inspect both the low-current dashboard circuit and the high-current distribution fuse at the battery appropriate to the gearbox.

For a crossover with different ABS, Haldex and DSG fuses, consult the Skoda Yeti 5L (2009-2017) fuse diagrams. For a closely related platform with its own fuse assignments, see the Skoda Fabia II 5J (2007-2014). Its fuse layouts share some design features but are not a substitute for the Roomster fuse chart. The older Fabia I 6Y uses 68 interior positions rather than 58.

Skoda Roomster 5J fuse box FAQ

Where is the cigarette lighter fuse?

Fuse 47 beneath the steering wheel; rated 15 A in the 2006-2011 source. Confirm the rating in later cars.

Does every Roomster have the same battery-top fuse box?

No. Both 12-position and 13-position versions are documented, with different functions and ratings, depending on year and gearbox.

Are the Roomster and Fabia II fuse boxes identical?

No. Although both are from the 5J platform family, their engine and equipment variants mean that specific circuit assignments may differ.

Why does a position show a dash for its rating?

The model-year source did not give one current value for every vehicle. Verify it from the installed fuse and the manufacturer’s handbook rather than guessing.

Can I use a 2009 fuse chart on a 2014 Roomster?

No. The source documents differences involving Start/Stop, daytime running lights, engine management, battery distribution and the rear wiper.

Use only the factory fuse rating and correct fuse type. Repeated failures require fault diagnosis of the protected electrical circuit, not a larger fuse.
