The first-generation Hyundai i30 FD (2008-2011) is a compact European hatchback and estate related to the first-generation Kia cee’d. Its electrical protection consists of a passenger compartment fuse box, a covered engine-bay fuse box with ordinary fuses and high-current fusible links, and optional additional diesel heating circuits.
These three tables retain 74 manufacturer-labelled fuse and relay positions, including names such as C/LIGHTER, P/OUTLET, ABS.1 and H/LP LO LH. Rating and equipment fitment may vary across petrol and CRDi diesel engines, markets and model years. Compare the fuse-box lid with the actual original fuse before replacement.
Where are the Hyundai i30 FD fuse boxes?
Passenger compartment: on left-hand-drive cars, the cabin holder is behind the end cover on the driver’s side of the dashboard. The manufacturer’s position names and amperage ratings are printed on the fuse-box label.
Under the bonnet: a second covered unit is next to the 12 V battery. This panel contains ordinary low-current fuses and larger fusible links for the charging system, brakes, electric steering and climate control. Diesel models may also have additional glow-plug and fuel-heater components.

Hyundai i30 engine compartment fuse box
The main front holder contains 33 documented high-current and ordinary fuse positions. For charging protection, ALTERNATOR is listed at 125 A in this source, but alternator fusible-link ratings differ with engine and electrical equipment. Do not install 125 A unless it matches the original specification.

| Position / label | Rating [A] / type | Protected circuit / function |
|---|---|---|
| ALTERNATOR | 125 | Alternator and main charging circuit; rating depends on engine specification |
| MDPS | 80 | Motor-driven power steering (EPS) |
| ABS.2 | 20 | ABS/ESP power supply, first high-current feed |
| ABS.1 | 40 | ABS/ESP power supply, second high-current feed |
| B+.1 | 50 | Main cabin fuse panel supply |
| RR HTD | 40 | Heated rear window supply |
| BLOWER | 40 | Cabin heater and A/C blower relay |
| C/FAN | 40 | Air-conditioning condenser cooling fan relays |
| B+.2 | 50 | Second main cabin fuse supply |
| IGN.2 | 40 | Ignition switch and starter relay |
| IGN.1 | 30 | Ignition switch, additional supply |
| ECU | 30 | Main relay and engine controller, depending on engine |
| SPARE.1 | 20 | Spare fuse |
| FR FOG | 15 | Front fog lamp relay |

The large B+.1 and B+.2 fuses supply cabin distribution, ABS.1 and ABS.2 protect different brake-system feeds, and MDPS serves the electric steering. Engine controller and sensor supplies depend on the installed petrol or diesel powertrain.
Hyundai i30 CRDi supplementary fuse and relay box
Some D4FB and D4EA diesel variants have additional high-current glow plug protection, PTC electric heaters, a fuel filter heater and their corresponding relays. Relays are switching devices rather than blade fuses. Do not assume these components are installed on petrol cars or all diesel trims.

Which fuse protects the cigarette lighter, radio, headlights and wipers?
Cigarette lighter: cabin C/LIGHTER (15 A). 12 V accessory outlet: cabin P/OUTLET (15 A); on applicable vehicles, rear RR P/OUTLET (15 A) is separate. If a new fuse blows, inspect the device and socket for a short circuit.
Front wipers: cabin FR WIPER (25 A). Rear wiper: cabin REAR WIPER (15 A). Radio: cabin AUDIO (15 A), with another supply associated with CLOCK (10 A).
Low-beam lights: engine H/LP LO LH (10 A) on the left and H/LP LO RH (10 A) on the right. Fuel pump: engine F/PUMP (15 A) on matching petrol models. Horn: engine HORN (15 A).
Heater blower: large under-bonnet BLOWER (40 A), with cabin A/CON and A/CON SW supplying associated controls. On diesel cars, separate PTC heating circuits should not be mistaken for the basic fan circuit.
Hyundai i30 FD and other Hyundai fuse systems
The later Hyundai i30 generations use different fuse panels. A newer Hyundai Bayon fuse guide illustrates another Hyundai architecture, but its designations are not interchangeable with the earlier i30 FD.
The first-generation Kia cee'd shares some technical background with the i30 FD, but actual circuit labels and ampere ratings can differ. For a newer Kia hatchback-based crossover with a different electrical system, see the Kia XCeed fuse guide. Always check the factory fuse panel for the exact engine and build.
